I just wanted to start by saying “Happy anniversary Charlotte and Dan”. Charlotte and Dan were married a year ago today, having met on Valentines day in 2009. Charlotte said it was ‘love at first sight’. Their first date was pizza followed a cinema visit, something they still enjoy doing now. After 6 months, they moved in together and that’s where their love story began
Dan proposed just after Charlotte gave birth to their little Grace (who is now nearly 3). Charlotte was holding Grace in her arms when Dan asked her (not that she remembered much of it!). Charlotte was also touched that Dan had asked her dad’s permission for his hand in marriage.
Fast forward to 14th February 2015 and Charlotte and Dan said their ‘I do’s’ at The Assembly House in Norwich. I started the morning with the boys at St Giles House Hotel. They were surprisingly chilled and were ready early! Charlotte’s soon to be sister-in-law, Kelly (also a bridesmaid) is a wedding photographer and as a gift wanted to capture the bridal preparations. This left me with plenty of time to spend with the boys, something that I don’t always get to do. Charlotte and Dan also had the brilliant Josh Trett filming their wedding day.
After a few photos outside the beautiful facade of St Giles House hotel, we walked en-masse (the boys in suits from Slaters) to the ceremony at The Assembly House. Charlotte and Dan had chosen to keep everything very elegant, in keeping with the stunning grandeur of the building, the colours mainly being ivory, cream and champagne, with the bridesmaid’s dresses adding a splash of bush pink. The elegant flowers were provided by Libby Ferris and the bridesmaid’s dresses were from House of Fraser. Charlotte’s stunning dress, with its incredible back detail was from La Belle Angele.
As the guests arrived they were greeted with the beautiful sound of Reeverberates which continued throughout the ceremony. After capturing some photos of their friends and family, we quickly made our way back into the Music Room for some couple portrait before the wedding breakfast was served. The Music Room is a photographers heaven, with it’s beautiful high ceilings and chandeliers. Tucked behind the stage is a tiny staircase leading up to the balcony, where there is the most beautiful light for those romantic shots.
The evening was full of excitement and entertainment with a chocolate fountain, photobooth and the amazing Bill Downs performing. There was also a surprise for Charlotte and the guests as the boys showed off there dance skills with a surprise performance of Gangnam Style.
