The very lovely Jack and Beccy were married back in March this year at The Oaklands, Norwich.
I first headed over to photograph Beccy’s bridal preparations at Sprowston Manor. Beccy’s hair and make up (Hair by Christie) were well under way and the excitement was rising. The florist arrived from La Belle Florist with the most beautiful and unusual bouquet, which included feathers.
I then headed over to The Oaklands to catch up with Jack and the other guests before Beccy arrived. And finally the moment came to say their ‘I do’s’. Both Jack and Beccy had prepared some special words for each other. Beccy has a great love for penguins and read a short story about…penguins and their love for each other.
After the ceremony we headed off down to the River Yare for some couple shots, where we managed to avoid the swans, but they were looking pretty shifty.
Then back to The Oaklands for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. Jack was very keen not to have a theme, but the more they planned the more a small theme emerged. For Beccy’s 21st birthday they slept under the stars in a hammock, so both the invites and table decorations had a star/galaxy theme. Beccy also likes creating cute little things out of felt and sewing, so there were a few of these elements too. And they both love Lego, which you will see featured in the wedding decorations.
I also had my first ever silent disco experience! A complete surprise for the guests. The most hilarious experience to watch and take part in. The guests had a choice of two different channels to listen to. So everyone on the dance floor were either slow dancing or letting their hair down.
And finally, who doesn’t want a inflatable flamingo in their wedding photos? It’s the done thing now, right?!
