Miriam and Manuel married at All Saints Church, Besthorpe on a beautiful Tuesday in May 2017. Their wedding was a day of family and friends coming together to celebrate the marriage of a fantastic couple. And I had the privilege of photographing their special day.
Miriam and Manuel met at university while both studying to become teachers. They quickly realised they had a lot in common, spending time together cycling and travelling and enjoyed just being in each other’s company. They quite often discussed getting married and their future together and so there wasn’t really a proposal as such but it was something they always talked about.
Both Miriam and Manuel had in mind exactly how they wanted their wedding to be and tried not to stray too far from the plan or get carried away with extra things. The plan was to get married in the local church, All Saints Church, Beesthorpe followed by an informal (but organised) wedding reception in Miriam’s family garden. They didn’t have a theme, but as the wedding reception was being held in the garden, they planned to incorporate elements of that in the wedding decorations.
I arrived at the church, photographing the beautiful interior details the couple had chosen to add their personal touch. Quite soon Manuel arrived with his Bestman Victor, followed by the wedding guests. Miriam is part of big family and two of her sisters were her bridesmaids. Alicia and Helen looked beautiful in their soft pink bridesmaid dresses and floral headdresses. Miriam arrived in style and looked stunning in her lace wedding dress from Debenhams. After the ceremony and the all important photos at the church we headed to the wedding reception. The garden looked so pretty and the family had erected a marquee on the back of the house to host the wedding breakfast. The cake was homemade and had a wonderful nature/floral theme. It truly was a special day and a day I’m sure they will both treasure.
